Welcome to the Balham Blazers F.C. website. Balham Blazers is a youth football club based in South London with age group teams that play in the Southern Youth League, the Tandridge League and the London County Saturday Youth Football League. The club was formed in 2001. For the League Season 2013/2014 we will have a Youth (Under 18) team playing in the Southern Youth League, an Under 16 team, an Under 15 team, two Under 13 teams, three Under 12 teams and two Under 11 teams playing in the Tandridge League and an Under 11 team, an Under 10 team, two Under 9 teams and an Under 8 team playing in the London County Saturday Youth Football League. We also have an open age, First team, Balham FC, playing in the Surrey South Eastern Combination.

Annual Presentation Evening
Four hundred people gathered at Trinity Fields on Friday July 11th for the annual BBFC Presentation Evening, at the end of our thirteenth season as a club. Once again, despite the threat of rain, we were lucky with the weather and the event, sponsored by Sullivan Thomas, was a great success.......... ........Further information.red rule


Eddie's Amazing Season
What an amazing season Eddie Luchford had in 2013-14. Not only was he top scorer in the Southern Youth League with 34 goals in 20 games, twice as many as the runner up... ...........Further information.red rule


Cornell Gets Top Award
When you consider that there are 30 teams and approximately 600 players in the Southern Youth League, to be voted Southern Youth League Player of the Season is an incredible achievement...............Further information.red rule

Paintballing Youth
The U11 Youth Team certainly know how to celebrate. After picking up their League Championship winning trophies at the BBFC Presentation Evening it was early to bed for an early wake up as they headed off paintballing in Cobham..............Further information.red rule


Fruitful Furngate
Well done to all the BBFC teams who headed to the Furngate Tournament, in Surrey, on the weekend of July 5th/6th. It was a shame that both our U9 teams and U13 teams............. Further information.red rule


Plate At The Abbey
Bidding to make it three tournament wins in a row the U11 Eagles topped their group at the Abbey Rangers competition on Saturday June 5th............. Further information.red rule


Reigning In The Rain
Despite persistent rain, which at one point, on the first day of the Guildford City Tournament on June 28th/29th, caused a forty-five minute postponement, BBFC reigned supreme............. Further information.red rule


Ruislip Tournament
As Holland were squeezing past Mexico in the last sixteen of the World Cup, BBFC U11 Eagles were readying themselves for a semi final in the Ruislip Rangers Tournament on Sunday June 29th............ Further information.red rule
Balham Blazers Bursary Fund – Donations for 2014/15 Season
Our Bursary Fund offers full or part bursaries to players selected to play for the club who can't afford all or part of the fees. To keep funding this scheme as the club grows we invite parents and friends of the club........... Further information.red rule

Balham Blazers U11 Eagles went one step further than 2013 in the Worcester Park Tournament on Saturday June 21st, claiming a well-deserved tournament win and exhibiting some fine football throughout the competition...........Further information.red rule

The Balham Blazers U10 Colts emerged as clear victors at the Elm Grove Park Tournament on Sunday June 15th.......... Further information.red rule


Gallant Nines
Our talented U9 Eagles finished as gallant runners up in Elm Grove's tournament this year. They came through the group stages strongly, playing delightful football at times with everyone getting on the score sheet.........Further information.red rule


U16s Triumph at Brockham
Following the heartbreak of losing in a penalty shoot out in the final of the NPL Tournament two weeks ago, the U16s went one better on Saturday 14th June to lift the Brockham World Cup, in a high-quality tournament at Dorking. ........Further information.red rule

The BBFC U11 Eagles played magnificently at the Bourne End Tournament on Saturday June 7th. Winning five games and drawing one in the group stages they progressed to the semi finals,........Further information.

So Nearly At NPL
A disappointed Balham U16 side went up to collect Runners Up medals at the NPL Tournament at Teddington on Saturday May 31st. The boys lost on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time against the host side NPL........Further information. red rule


94th Minute Heartbreak
A cruelly deflected goal in the 94th minute of the SYL Invitational Plate Final at River Lane on Thursday May 29th meant heartbreak again for the BBFC Youth Team in their second cup final of the season........Further information.red rule

Redemption
Having been down in the dumps after losing to London Cup winners, Glebe Lions, in the Tandridge League Cup Final, only a week earlier, it was all smiles for the BBFC U11 Eagles after their league encounter on Sunday May 25th..........Further information. red rule

Many congratulations to the U12 Colts who finished a fantastic first season in the Tandridge League level on points at the top of the B Division. Whilst promotion has been secured the Colts unluckily have to settle for runners up spot..........Further information.red rule

Having done brilliantly to get to the Tandridge League Cup Final, in their first season in the league, the BBFC U11 Eagles had to be content with runners up medals after an uncharacteristic bad day at the office in the final played at Chipstead FC on May 18th.......... Further information.red rule

Ewell Saxons
Congratulations to BBFC U11 Colts who were runners up at the Ewell Saxons tournament on Saturday May 17th. Having started with two draws in the group stages the team went on to win four games in a row, including a penalty shoot-out, to reach the final......... Further information. red rule

Balham have done the League and Cup double! A glorious night for the First team as they beat St Andrews 3-2 in the SSEC League cup final.red rule



Sandhurst Town
Congratulations to the BBFC U10s, who were runners up at the Sandhurst Town tournament on Sunday May 11th. Having won through the initial group stage and then a Champions League group stage they won a tough semi final on penalties........Further information.red rule

SSEC League Champions
Many congratulations to the Balham FC First Team who were crowned Surrey South Eastern League Champions on Saturday May 10th. The team who secured their third promotion in a row since being formed in 2011, needed a point in their final game against Old Plymouthians to take the title.........Further information.red rule

Showdown In Sutton
It was heartbreak for BBFC in the Southern Youth League Cup Final v Leatherhead, played at The Borough Ground, home of Sutton Utd, on Thursday May 8th, in front of a crowd of over 200.........Further information.red rule
Race For The Kids
The RBC Race for the Kids is Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity's very own annual 5k family fun run. It takes place on June 8th in Battersea Park. ........Further information.red rule

U11 Youth Are Champs

It was another Fuzzy Wuzzie night at the rescheduled third fundraising 6-a-side Old Fellers Tournament of the season on Friday May 2nd........Further information.red rule

Shield Glory
The BBFC U13 Colts dramatically lifted the Tandridge League Shield at Chipstead on Sunday April 27th defeating Coney Hall in an very tight final. Down 1-2 with only ten seconds left to play, the Colts equalised through a superb James Eghan goal to take the tie to extra time........Further information.red rule

Congratulations to U13 Eagles player, Sam Arbuckle and former BBFC player, Will Donkin, now a signed academy player at Chelsea FC, who represented London recently at the ISFA Regional Festival at Shrewsbury School.......Further information.red rule

We are delighted that BBFC U11 Youth Coach, Jaden Cameron, has been selected to join the London FA Young Leaders Council, following in the footsteps of First team player, Dan David, who served on the inaugural Council last year. ......Further information.red rule

Following a frustrating season at Stevenage Borough FC in League One, former BBFC Coach, Robin Shroot, a fans favourite at Broadhill Way, where he made 74 appearances, scoring 11 times......Further information.red rule
Conference Blazers
Former BBFC stalwart, Alec "Messi" Fiddes, who scored hatfuls of goals for the club before playing as a scholar in Spain for a year, came into direct contact with another former BBFC player......Further information.red rule
